Did you know there’s a boat that was discovered by the Sea of Galilee that dates back to the time of Jesus? Of course, there’s no evidence that it was used by Jesus or his disciples, but it does give us an idea about what it would have been like to go out fishing or travelling by water.
Sometimes it’s hard to imagine what things would have been like when Jesus lived and finding these artefacts help us understand the stories in different ways.
Imagine bobbing around on the water in a boat like this. Storms would be terrifying, especially if they come up unexpectedly. Imagine filling a boat like this with fish until it starts to sink!
